Allowance, spending, and something to save for.

Keep the amounts your family agrees on in one place. Parents record the money; kids can see what’s left and plan a purchase.

An allowance that arrives on schedule

Choose the amount and payday. Tiny Ledger adds each allowance to saved balance and records it in the history.

Use a weekly, biweekly, or monthly schedule. Pause or change it when your family’s plans change.

Example · Maya’s allowance

Regular allowance
$10 every Friday
Friday’s entry
+$10.00
Saved balance
$20 → $30

An entry in your shared record. Tiny Ledger does not move money between bank accounts.

A goal with an amount and a date

Choose something to save for and set aside part of the saved balance. The money remains available to spend. Purchases adjust goal amounts automatically when needed.

See whether existing savings cover the price, or how many more allowance payments would close the gap.

Example · Pokémon cards

$22 of $43 set aside
$22 of $43

Another three $10 allowances would cover the remaining $21 if saved for this goal.

Know where the balance came from

Record gifts, deposits, and spending. Each entry shows the amount and the saved balance afterward.

Keep bills and coins under cash on hand. Recording a transfer between cash and savings changes where the money is counted, without counting it twice.

Example · Recent activity

Make the next decision together

Kids can check a purchase, keep a wishlist, or submit a job for review. Parents approve purchases and record payment for completed jobs.

You can also offer a savings match or interest on saved balance. Parents choose those amounts; Tiny Ledger records them.

Example · A paid job

Clean the soccer cleats · $5

  1. A parent offers the job.
  2. The child marks it ready for review.
  3. The parent approves it; $5 is added to saved balance.

Each person has their own login

Parents create child accounts and manage their login details. Invite a caregiver to help manage the family. Children see their own balance, goals, and activity.
