FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Browse the basics below or contact support if your question is specific to your family setup.
Is Tiny Ledger a bank account?
No. Tiny Ledger is an educational virtual ledger. Balances are entered and managed by families; they are not bank balances or stored-value accounts.
Do I need to connect a debit card?
No. Tiny Ledger does not require a debit card, credit card, or bank account for the core allowance tracker experience.
Can my child change their own balance?
No. Kids can view their balance, goals, and history, but parents control deposits, withdrawals, allowance settings, and account access.
Can I track more than one child?
Yes. Parents can create separate child accounts with individual balances, goals, allowance schedules, and ledger history.
What happens if we use cash too?
Families can track physical cash separately from the virtual savings balance when they want one place to discuss the full money picture.
How does the automatic allowance tracker work?
Parents choose a weekly, biweekly, or monthly schedule. Tiny Ledger posts the virtual allowance automatically so kids can see the balance grow on a consistent timeline.
Can kids move money themselves in the app?
Kids can see their balance, goals, and transaction history, but parents stay in control of deposits, withdrawals, and settings.
Does this kids money app track cash too?
Yes. Families can track cash separately from the virtual savings balance so kids understand the difference between money on hand and money saved in the ledger.
Does Tiny Ledger show savings goals and interest forecasts?
Yes. Parents can turn on savings goals, recurring allowance, and interest settings so kids can see where future money comes from and when a goal is likely to be covered.
